FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything visitors usually ask us — from payments to how long a cake can travel.

Do I need a reservation?

Not for cut cakes and baked sweets — they are sold from the showcase daily; just come in and choose.

Whole cakes are not displayed in store, so reserving by the day before is the surest way.

How to order a whole cake

Can I get a whole cake on the same day?

Same-day requests are by phone only (+81-76-247-2788, in Japanese). Regular whole cakes — Drip Cake, Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate — can often be made in 30–60 minutes, depending on how busy the kitchen is.

On Saturdays and Sundays, same-day cakes are handed over from the afternoon.

What sizes do whole cakes come in?

No. 4 (approx. 12 cm, serves 2–3), No. 5 (15 cm, 4–5), No. 6 (18 cm, 6–8), No. 7 (21 cm, 9–10), No. 8 (24 cm, 10–12). The smallest is No. 4; chocolate cakes go up to No. 6.

Sizes & prices

What payment methods can I use?

Cash, credit cards, QR code payments and e-money (IC cards) are accepted.

Do you have allergen-free or gluten-free items?

No — all items are made in the same kitchen, and some products contain nuts or liqueur, so we cannot guarantee the complete removal of any allergen. If a specific ingredient concerns you, please ask before buying.

How long can I carry a cake?

An ice pack is included with each box (except in the cold season) — good for about one hour. If you have a longer trip, extra ice packs are available; a cooler bag of your own also helps.

How long do the cakes keep?

Fresh cakes are best eaten the same day. Baked sweets keep longer — each package shows its best-before date.

Do you ship? / Can I take sweets home to my country?

Fresh cakes cannot be shipped. Baked sweets can be shipped within Japan only — we do not offer international shipping.

Baked sweets such as madeleines and cookies keep for days and make easy souvenirs.

Can I eat in the shop?

We are a takeout shop. In summer there is a small standing table (up to 2 people); there is no café seating.

Do you speak English?

Phone calls are handled in Japanese only. In store, our team will do their best to help — simple English, pointing at the showcase, and translation apps are all welcome.

Is there parking?

Yes — 8 spaces right in front of the shop.

What are your opening hours and closed days?

Open 10:00–18:00 (items may sell out earlier). Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, plus one Wednesday each month. Holiday schedules vary — check Google Maps for the latest.

Can I take photos in the shop?

Of course — and we would love to see them. Tag us on Instagram: @noruman.cake.

Are you on Uber Eats?

Yes, selected items (like the Dubai Chocolate Mochi) are available on Uber Eats in Kanazawa.
